The Seattle Chamber Music Society's inaugural String Quartet-in-Residence is partnering with the Memory Hub to co-design and deliver music-based programming for people living with memory loss and their families. Through a research collaboration with UW PhD Candidate in Nursing Science Sarah McKiddy, members will co-design musical engagements involving the memory loss community and dementia experts in Seattle from Fall 2025 through Spring 2026. This novel partnership will create music-based memory loss programming to deliver in community settings. All activities will be co-designed to be intentional, symbiotic, and customized to the quartet’s musical knowledge and insights.
During the residency, the musicians will listen, learn, and design together with the memory loss community. They will share best practices around music-based memory loss programming in the Seattle community.
