Books and Beats

Come with your loved one to enjoy an afternoon at the Memory Hub! Caregivers will have a book discussion group led by Seattle Public Library in partnership with a Social Worker from the American Parkinson Disease Association. People with memory loss will have a music engagement program led by a certified music therapist. The last half hour we’ll come together for social time and snacks! A free event.

Offered monthly on the 3rd Wednesdays, 2:30 - 4 p.m.

Each book is discussed for two months plus an article or two as determined by the group. The Seattle Public Library provides a limited supply of new books for registered Book Group participants.

We encourage people to come in pairs (person with memory loss and care partner), although if you want/need to attend on your own that is OK too. Also, if you have not read the book, you are still welcome to attend the discussion. Space is limited and you will be notified if you are registered or on the waitlist

Registration required at least 1 week in advance. Questions: mbecker1@uw.edu

Parking information and reminder will be emailed out in the week before each session. This program is free, offered in partnership by UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center and Seattle Public Library. Questions: mbecker1@uw.edu, 206-543-2440.
